[/column] [column places=»2″]Dr. Fernando Franch obtained his DDS in dentistry in 2002 at the International University of Catalunya in Barcelona (Spain).
After completion of dental school, Dr. Franch moved to Madrid where he started the PhD program at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He obtained the Suficiencia Investigadora and the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA). At the same time, he was enrolled in the postgraduate program in the Department of Periodontology at the above mentioned university (Dir.: Prof. Antonio Bascones and Prof. Mariano Sanz). During his time in Madrid he worked together with different specialists in periodontology and implantology.
In 2004, Dr. Franch moved to the United Kingdom where he completed his three year specialty training at the Eastman Dental Institute (University College of London), which in 2007 led to his degree M Clin Dent in Periodontology. As an Honorary Researcher in the Department of Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute (University College of London), he has undertaken investigations in genetics for future developments in the area of periodontology. In 2007, Dr. Franch received his accreditation as a Specialist in Periodontology recognized by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
At present, he cooperates with the Consejo de Odontólogos y Estomatólogos de España as a lecturer in their continuing education program in periodontology offered to the Spanish general practitioners. Dr. Fernando Franch has been invited as a speaker by the Sociedad Española de Periodoncia y Osteointegración (SEPA). He has published and presented his research projects at national and international dental meetings.
Dr. Franch performs all treatments which involve the management of the structures supporting the teeth including soft and hard tissues, such as mucogingival surgery, guided tissue regeneration, bone grafting and implant surgery.
As a trained periodontist, his aim is to collaborate with and offer his knowledge to his team and colleagues in performing quality multidisciplinary treatments which will bring satisfaction to the colleagues as well as to their patients.[/column] [/columns]
